The very competitive NFC West is not even seen as one of the top four in the competition.
Arizona Cardinals fans know how competitive the NFC West is. In entering 2025, while the Los Angeles Rams are the favorite to win, it is expected that all four teams that will compete.
It has been considered the best division in the NFL many times.
But what about entering the 2025 season?
Eric Edholm from NFL.com put together the rankings of the division while we are waiting for NFL training camps to open
NFL Divisional Rankings: NFC West
The NFC West is not number 1. It is not even no. 2. It is not even in the upper half and comes in at number 5.
The West was packed tightly a year ago, with all four teams in PlayOFF set in mid-December. It also says that the worst team of the division, six-win San Francisco, was considered something of a coincidence, since the 49 people had on average almost double that number of victories in the previous three seasons.
It is a very solid division. You can have a plea for all four teams that have a play -off path in 2025. But how many have legitimate super bowl ambitions? That was a reason why I stacked the NFC East for the West.
Ok, this is fair. The entire division is able to win this year and make the late season. But when we talk about super bowl chances, even the rams feel at its best like a sleeper. This year’s 49ers team does not have the same punch as earlier teams, because they have to replace several important defensive starters.
The NFC North is not so good from top to bottom, but it has a much higher ceiling. The NFC East has the higher top teams with Philly and Washington, while the cowboys are a team like the Cardinals of Seahawks. The giants will not be good.
So is it fair? Maybe.
