What is more American than fireworks and cookouts? Fast food of course.

For the first time this year, Yelp has collected the top 20 fast food chicken sandwich bread chains to celebrate the insatiable appetite of the country for the fried or sometimes grilled entrance.

“Over, Hamburgers – America’s love affair with chicken bread is hotter than ever,” Yelp said in a press release. “Whether it is a fiery fillet in Nashville style, a buttermilk peaky classic or a saucy chicken finger, these crispy creations have put the center on menus throughout the country.”

According to data collected by Yelp, the online directory and assessment platform, the search for “chicken sandwich” in June 2025 was 125% compared to June 2019, when “The Chicken Craze started for the first time.”

“Whether you are a fan of fiery heat, crispy crunch or a secret sauce, these popular snacks win overfans nationwide,” said Yelp.

All brands or fast food chains that are included in this list have more than 100 historical locations, work in several states and have reviews that mention their chicken sandwiches. With National Fried Chicken Day behind us, there is no better time to check where your fast food-spot ranks.
