Linda Yaccarino, the Chief Executive of X, announced on Wednesday that she will resign as CEO of the platform after two years.
Yaccarino, 61, took the top position at the company at a controversial time for the platform, formerly known as Twitter, when Elon Musk acquired the promise to transform it into a “public square” free of censorship.
“I am extremely grateful to him that I have entrusted the responsibility to protect free speech, to turn the company and transform X into the Aalls app,” Yaccarino wrote on X.
The former former CEO did not mention a specific reason that she resigned from the company, but her resignation arrived only one day after X’s artificial intelligence chatbot, grock, started to respond with anti-Semitic statements.
“X is really a digital city square for all voices and the world’s most powerful culture signal. We could not have achieved that without the support of our users, business partners and the most innovative team in the world,” Yaccarino wrote.

A source that was familiar with the departure of Yaccarino told NBC News that her exit had been in the making for more than a week.
Yaccarino said she would move to the other company of Musk, Xai.
In March Musk said that he combined X with Xai by selling the $ 33 billion of the social media platform of $ 33 billion to Xai, his artificial intelligence company. Both companies are private ownership.
Musk’s artificial intelligence company also created grok. Although the chatbot is trained on data placed by X users.
Yaccarino did not immediately provide details about what her new role would entail.
Before he came to X in 2023, Yaccarino was chairman of Global Advertising and Partnerships at NBCUIVERSAL. It was in that role that she became closer to Musk, because she was one of the few who promised not to remove Twitter advertisements after Musk had acquired the platform.
But other companies were less willing to look and see what was going on a platform with content aircraft after the acquisition of Musk.
On top of the immediate changes, Yaccarino was forced to navigate problems after Musk had promoted an anti -Semitic conspiracy theory, so that a wave of more advertisers was attracting their affairs.

But in the past two years, Yaccarino has succeeded in reducing some income. Although the company has largely seen a decrease in income since the acquisition of Musk, it is expected that it will report its first growth this year.
Yaccarino has also supervised the expansion of the “Everything App”, including a payment system that cooperates with Visa, known as X-money, longer form content, a program for generating makers and more.
Musk gave a brief answer to the announcement of Yaccarino and wrote: “Thank you for your contributions.”
